{"id":125,"date":"2005-04-17T16:44:00","date_gmt":"2005-04-17T16:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chriscurnow.com\/index.php\/2005\/04\/17\/update_on_spam\/"},"modified":"2005-04-17T16:44:00","modified_gmt":"2005-04-17T16:44:00","slug":"update_on_spam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chriscurnow.com\/?p=125","title":{"rendered":"Update on Spam blocking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few days ago I posted regarding how good I found MT-Blacklist, a spam blocking plugin for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sixapart.com\/movabletype\/\">Moveable Type<\/a> publishing system.<br \/>\nWell thanks to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bleedingedge.com.au\/blog\/archives\/2005\/04\/a_better_spam_t.html\">Bleeding Edge Entry<\/a> I found out about <a href=\"http:\/\/bradchoate.com\/projects\/spamlookup\/\">SpamLookup<\/a>. Developed by Brad Choate, SpamLookup is actually a combination of previous plugins, bringing together centralised blacklist blocking, DNS checking and additional comment moderation features. MT-Blacklist author, Jay Allen, has this to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Many times, MT-Blacklist has been characterized as the &#8220;Swiss Army knife of weblog spam defenses&#8221; for Movable Type by a lot of different people, and rightly so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>But if that&#8217;s true, SpamLookup, a new plugin by Brad Choate, is the whole damn Swiss Army.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(Read the whole entry <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jayallen.org\/journey\/2005\/04\/introducing_spamlookup\">here<\/a>.)<br \/>\nNothing is getting through now.
