Davidson Professor of Psychology and Management at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgu.edu\/pages\/1871.asp\">The<br \/>\nDrucker School, Claremont Graduate University<\/a>, is mainly known for his work in flow<br \/>\nin creativity. Csikszentmihalyi describes flow as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you&#8217;re using your skills to the utmost.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apa.org\/monitor\/jul98\/joy.html\">The Monitor on Pschology<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>[Martin] Seligman describes Csikszentmihalyi as the world&#8217;s leading<br \/>\nresearcher on a subject that is near and dear to his heart &#8212; positive psychology.<br \/>\nHe says Csikszentmihalyi&#8217;s work on improving lives has been important in his<br \/>\nown effort to encourage psychologists to focus on building human strengths.<br \/>\n&#8220;He is the brains behind positive psychology, and I am the voice,&#8221; says<br \/>\nSeligman.
