chriscurnow.com is up again

Whew!
What a week. We finally have chriscurnow.com running again. As of right now, we have still got a lot of work to do, but at least we can publish entries.
chriscurnow.com is temporarily running on a Mac Mini, while we wait for our iMac G5 to return from hospital. We do hope it’s hard disk is OK.
You will see that there are no old entries here. That’s because in the end we had to start off with a clean installation of Moveable Type. It would have been nice to b e able to restore our entries, but mySQL just would do anything with out sql backup file. I can tell you it was a bit of work recovering mySQL and then creating the backup file. We thought that was the hard part. But in the end the final step stumped us.
If ouf G5 hard disk is OK, we will just fire it up again and everything will be back to normal. If not we have a plan B for manually reading the HTML form all the old entries and recreating them. We will loose all your comments if we do this, but that is just how it might have to be.
You will also see that the templates are all over the place at the moment. Hopefully we will get that back ASAP. You’ll see how we go. In the meantime, at least we can publish again.
Thanks for you patience. It’s been a hectic week leading up to Christmas.

The Power of Commitment

More from Synchronicity:

Until one is committed there is hesitance, The chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative (and creations, there is on elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help one that would otherwise never have occurred. A wh ole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meeting and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
